Aliyah LaVergne

Aliyah LaVergne is a senior at Coldwater High School and attends the Environmental & Agri-Science program at the Branch Area Careers Center. Aliyah is employed through the On-The-Job Training program at Golden Paws as a Dog Grooming Assistant. Her supervisor is Jennifer Rakoske. Her job duties include cleaning kennels, feeding and watering boarders, bathing, blow drying and brushing dogs and assisting the groomer. Aliyah feels the best part of her OJT training is meeting all the animals and taking care of them. Her OJT training has helped her gain knowledge of different dog breeds and has allowed her to open up and engage with co-workers and customers. At the Branch Area Careers Center, she participates in FFA, where she serves on various committees and competes in leadership competitions.
After graduation, Aliyah plans to attend the Michigan School of Canine Cosmetology. Once she is certified, she plans to work in the related industry and hopefully be the owner of her business. She also hopes to relocate to Florida. In her spare time, Aliyah enjoys watching movies and shows, being with her friends, painting, drawing, and visiting her sister. Aliyah is the daughter of Daniel LaVergne and Larrisa LaVergne.
