Connor Sarles is a Quincy High School senior enrolled in the BACC’s Computer and Networking Technology program. Connor’s OJT employer is Quincy Community Schools as an Information Technology Technician under the direction of Andrew Craig and Logan Jenkins. Connor is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing hardware and devices, repairing screens on portable devices, taking inventory of damaged hardware and spare parts, assisting with multi-media needs, and assisting with any IT project. Connor’s favorite part of his OJT job is testing and experimenting with de-provisioned hardware. Connor’s feels his OJT position has given him valuable hands-on experience, helped him become more responsible in completing tasks, more willing to ask for help, and managing his time better.
At the Branch Area Careers Center, Connor is a member of Business Professionals of America (BPA). Last year, he was a member of the State of Michigan BPA Champion Software Engineering Team. His team competed at the BPA National Contest in San Antonio, Texas. This year, Connor competed in PC Servicing and Troubleshooting where he placed 3rd at the Regional Leadership Conference and competed at the State BPA Leadership contest. In his spare time, Connor enjoys live streaming and making YouTube videos, playing video games and playing guitar. Connor’s future plans are to pursue an associate’s degree in Computer Science at Davenport University. Ultimately, Connor hopes to be a content creator. Connor is the son of Gina Wright and Glenn Sarles.
