David Philo

David Philo is a Quincy High School senior enrolled in the BACC’s Computer and Networking Technology program. David’s OJT employer is Sekisui Voltek as a Level 1 Help Desk Technician. He is under the direction of Bill Harvey and Dylan McFarland. David is responsible for repairing hardware and devices, printer repair and maintenance, creating user accounts, maintaining continuous camera feed for the ovens, and assisting with any IT project. David’s favorite part of his OJT job is managing user accounts. David’s feels his OJT position has given him valuable hands-on experience, helped him become more responsible in completing tasks, and learning programs to further his education. At the Branch Area Careers Center, David is a member of Business Professionals of America (BPA). Last year, he placed 2 nd in Computer Network Technology and competed at the State BPA Leadership contest. This year, he placed 1st in Computer Network Technology, 1st in Device Configuration Technology, and 2 nd in Information Technology Concepts. He will be competing again in the State BPA Leadership contest in March 2024. At Quincy High School, David is a member of the Marching Band and Concert Band. In his spare time, David enjoys working on his computer and playing one of his many musical instruments. David’s future
plans are to continue working full time while pursuing his CompTIA Net + certification. Ultimately, David plans to keep moving up the career ladder as high as he can. David is the son of Norm Philo and Katrina Philo.
