Draven Baker

Draven Baker is a senior from Quincy High School and attends the Branch Area Careers Center’s Welding Engineering Technology program. His On-The-Job-Training placement is as a line welder with LaGrange Products under the supervision of John Dodson and Sedeq Alsorimi. Draven’s job duties include measuring, sealing and welding parts for pressure vessels. He says his OJT job has really helped him improve his welding skills and learn easier ways to weld in certain positions that are normally awkward. Draven’s favorite part of the job is laying beeds and making welds look nice. Draven plans to continue working at LaGrange Products after he graduates from high school. He ultimately hopes to own and operate his own welding business. At Quincy High School, Draven is a member of the Varsity Baseball and Bowling teams. At the Branch Area Careers Center, he is a member of Skills USA. Draven placed 1st in Oxy Fuel Cutting (OFC) at Locals and 3rd in Plasma Arc Cutting (PAC) at the Regional level. In his spare time, Draven enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing paintball, hunting, fishing and welding. Draven is the son of Heather Baker.
