Dylan Smith

Dylan Smith is a senior at Bronson Jr/Sr High School and attends the Welding program at the Branch Area Careers Center.  He is the son of Rusty and Vicki Smith.  Dylan has an On-the-Job Training placement as a welder at Basin Material Handling, under the direction of Brad Jones. His responsibilities include welding and fabricating shipping racks for the automotive industry.

Dylan feels his OJT training has helped with communication and teamwork. His favorite part about his OJT job is learning what it is like to weld, earn money, and work in manufacturing as part of his school day. Dylan is a member of the Skills USA chapter at the BACC. He placed third in TIG welding in local competition.

At Bronson High School, Dylan is a member of National Honor Society, Varsity Tennis and Varsity Baseball teams. Dylan’s hobbies include playing sports and hunting.  In the future, Dylan plans to attend Ferris State University to study Welding and play ice hockey.
