Franklin Edson

Franklin Edson is a senior from Colon High School and attends the Branch Area Careers Center’s Environmental & Agricultural Science program. His On-The-Job-Training placement is a Farm Hand with Gentz Family Farms under the supervision of Michelle Walkinhood. Franklin helps with crop irrigation, assists with maintenance duties in the shop and helps with field preparation and harvest. He says his OJT job has taught him how to work on equipment and keep irrigation running. Franklin’s favorite part of his job is operating tractors and other equipment. Franklin’s future plans are to work full time after graduation. Ultimately, he would like to own and operate his own farm and trucking business.
At the BACC, Franklin is an FFA member and has earned his Greenhand, Chapter and Outstanding Junior degrees. He has earned his FFA Proficiency award and he competed in FFA Spring Skills. At Colon High School, Franklin is a member of the Varsity Basketball team. In his spare time, he enjoys working on antique tractors and he joins his family and friends in antique tractor pulls throughout the summer. Franklin is the son of Kevin and Nicole Edson.
