Leandro Cardenas

Leandro Cardenas is a senior at Coldwater High School and enrolled in Business, Management & Marketing Technologies Program at the BACC. His OJT placement is Corner Store Manager at the Branch Area Careers Center under the supervision of Brittany Wisman. At the Corner Store, Leandro is responsible for ensuring the smooth and successful operation of the store. This includes stocking, filling coolers, tracking inventory, balancing a cash drawer, customer service, and interacting with vendors. He also manages, directs and trains BMMT students on store operations. Leandro believes his OJT training has given him skills and experience for future jobs. His favorite part about his position is interacting with customers and placing orders.
Leandro is a member of Business Professionals of America at the BACC. As a junior, Leandro was elected the BPA Michigan State Historian. He served Michigan BPA chapters at the Regional and State Leadership Conferences. He will be representing Michigan at the BPA National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California in May. Leandro was also named the Outstanding Student of the Marking Period and recognized as the Coldwater Exchange Club Student of the Quarter.
At Coldwater High School, Leandro is a former member of the Track and Soccer teams. His parents are Roxanne Irwin, Karreem Howard, and Juan Cardenas. His future plans are to attend college and pursue a degree in Engineering. While in college, he will join the Air Force ROTC. He plans to have a successful career in either business, the Air Force or working in aeronautics. Leandro enjoys fishing, hunting, working and riding his motorcycle.
