Lynsey Smith

Lynsey Smith is a senior at Bronson Jr/Sr High School and enrolled in Health Science Specialties Program. Her OJT placement is a Phlebotomist at Promedica Regional Hospital under the supervision of Jill Duke. As a Phlebotomist, Lynsey is responsible for drawing blood, interacting with patients, tubing urine, and collecting breath, stool and MRSA samples. She also completes all computer work, labels specimens and informs patients.
Lynsey believes her OJT training has taught her professionalism. She has matured so much and she has learned to keep information confidential. Her favorite part about her OJT job is interacting with patients. Lynsey’s future plans are to attend Hope College and play softball. She plans to major in social work and pursue a career in that field so she can help people. At the Branch Area Careers Center, Lynsey is a member of the National Technical Honor Society. She is a two-year member of HOSA-Future Healthcare Professionals. She participated at HOSA Regional Leadership for the past two years, finishing in the top ten in Vet Science. At Bronson High School, she participates in National Honor Society and backpack buddies. In her spare time, Lynsey enjoys playing softball and being outside. She loves swimming and water activities. Lynsey is the daughter of Vicki Smith and Rusty Smith.
