Mi-Mi Nguyen

Mi-Mi Nguyen is a senior attending Coldwater High School and is enrolled in the Health Science Medical Certifications program at the Branch Area Careers Center. Mi-Mi is employed through the On-The-Job Training program at C & H Family Practice and Orthopedic Care Center as a Medical Assistant. Her supervisor is Kristy Rissman. Her job duties include making appointments for diagnostic scans and labs, calling patients, rooming and charting patients as well as assisting with minor procedures, cast removals, and injections. Mi-Mi feels her OJT placement has helped her by allowing her to get first-hand experience in the medical field and it has given her insight on how the healthcare field has been dealing with the pandemic. Mi-Mi states that the best part of her OJT training is getting hands-on experience every day and learning so much in a small amount of time. She also really enjoys her patients and the staff. She is a member of HOSA (Future Health Professionals) at the BACC. She earned the Outstanding Student of the Marking Period award and is a member of the National Technical Honor Society at the BACC. At Coldwater High School, Mi-Mi is a member of the Varsity Tennis team. Her plan after graduation is to attend Michigan State University to pursue a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Her long term goal is to become Physician’s Assistant for Orthopedics or a Primary Sports Physician for the NFL. In her spare time, Mi-Mi enjoys playing tennis and going to the gym. Mi-Mi is the daughter of Anna Marie Nguyen.
