Osvaldo Vargas

Osvaldo Vargas is a senior from Bronson High School and attends the Branch Area Careers Center’s Health Science Academy program. His On-The-Job-Training placement is with Promedica Regional Hospital as a Nursing Assistant under the supervision of Cherrie Hooker. Osvaldo’s job duties include answering patient call lights, assisting patients with bathroom needs, and taking patient vital signs. He says his OJT job has really helped him by giving him real nursing experience and allowing him to work actual nursing shifts. Osvaldo’s favorite part of the job is when he can assist with patient discharge by taking the patient in a wheelchair out of the hospital because the patient’s health improved. At Bronson High School, Osvaldo is a member of the National Honor Society and the Varsity Soccer team. At the Branch Area Careers Center, he is a member of HOSA-Future Health Professionals where he won second place at HOSA Regionals in the Medical Debate competition. After high school, Osvaldo plans to attend Kellogg Community College. In his spare time, Osvaldo enjoys playing soccer with his friends. Osvaldo is the son of Apolonia and Elvira Vargas.
