MIDLAND \u2013 The 72nd<\/sup> annual Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State Leadership Conference was held March 21-23, 2018 in Midland, MI.\u00a0 Students competed in STAR Events to showcase their teaching, speaking, and leadership skills as well as attended professional workshops.\u00a0 At the banquet students earning FCCLA\u2019s most prestigious award, Power Of One, were recognized.\u00a0 In addition, the BACC Education Academy Program, under the direction of Mrs. Karen Sobeske, earned several club awards including: \u201cFive Star Chapter\u201d award, \u201cCommunity Service\u201d gold level, \u201cGimme Five! Membership Campaign\u201d award, and the highly competitive \u201cFCCLA Level Up Award.\u201d\u00a0 Individual and team awards were presented as the conference concluded on Friday.\u00a0 The following is a listing of the contest events and the results:<\/p>\n

FCCLA: The Ultimate Leadership Experience is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, word, and societal issues.\u00a0 FCCLA has more than 220,000 members and nearly 7,000 chapters from 50 states and the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.\u00a0 The organization has involved more than ten million youth since its founding in 1945.<\/p>\n

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is unique among youth organizations because its programs are planned and run by members.\u00a0 It is the only career and technical in-school student organization with the family as its central focus.
