Alexia is a Bronson Jr.\/Sr. High School senior who has been attending the BACC Collision Repair program for the past 2 years. She is a member of the National Technical Honor Society, President of Skills USA chapter, Collision Repair Advisory Board member, BACC Open House and Car Show volunteer, and assisted with 8<sup>th<\/sup>, 9<sup>th<\/sup>, &amp; 10<sup>th<\/sup> grade BACC tours. \u00a0As a junior, Alexia placed in SkillsUSA Regionals and competed in the 2019 SkillsUSA State Leadership Conference. This year as a senior, Alexia again placed in Skills USA Regionals and was eligible to compete in the 2020 SkillsUSA State contest, but unfortunately the event was cancelled. In the Collision classroom, Alexia took the lead as Shop Foreman on a regular basis. Recently, Alexia was recognized by the Michigan Department of Education for the \u201cBreaking Traditions\u201d award. State Superintendent Dr. Michael Rice notes that students who receive this award \u201covercome perceived barriers to achieve success in a career and technical education program that is nontraditional to her gender, which makes her a role model for her peers who may be considering such a career path.<\/p>\n<p>After graduating\u00a0High School, Alexia plans to attend Washtenaw Community College to pursue an advanced certificate in Business and Custom Auto Body Fabrication. \u00a0After graduating college, Alexia plans to open a custom auto body fabrication shop.<\/p>\n<p>Tony MacArthur, Collision Repair Instructor selected Alexia because of her leadership and passion for the body shop industry. From the moment Alexia entered class, she has been completely engrossed and eager to learn and master skills quickly. She assists her classmates without hesitation.
