Makieh\u03ac Conley is a senior from Coldwater High School and attends the Branch Area Careers Center\u2019s Welding Engineering and Technology program.\u00a0 Her On-The-Job-Training placement is with Hart Fabrication under the supervision of Reed Smith.\u00a0 Makieh\u03ac\u2019s job is to fabricate parts and accessories for docks.\u00a0 She says her OJT job has really helped her by pushing her to try harder welds which will prepare her for her career. Her favorite part of her job is learning more about welding and earning money while going to high school.<\/p>\n
After graduation, Makieh\u03ac plans to get certified in as many welding positions as possible and attend a trade school. Eventually, she hopes to start her own welding and fabrication shop in partnership with her father to build trailers for sale and rent.\u00a0 At the BACC, she is a member of Skills USA. Last year she served as President and competed in Welding Locals. She is also a member of the BACC National Technical Honor Society. In her spare time, Makieh\u03ac likes to ride four-wheelers and snowmobiles, paint, cook and bake.
