Branch Area Careers Center middle level members, Max Garn, Hunter Smith, Daniel Zimmerman and high school members Elijah Quinn, Grant Bridges, Caleb Hadfield, and Brayden Watkins joined nearly 6,000 conference delegates from across the nation to compete in national level business skills competitions and attend leadership development, workshops, general sessions, and national officer candidate campaigns and elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEach year, the National Leadership Conference offers our students the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete against other students from across the country, and be recognized for their dedication and hard work they \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0have put forth through the year,\u201d said middle level chapter advisor Josie Smith and high school chapter advisor Berto Campos who work at the Branch Area Careers Center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year, we have seven students who have excelled throughout the year and will be representing our local \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0chapter of Business Professionals of America from Branch Area Careers Center.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Middle Level BPA members Max Garn, Garrett Morrell, Hunter Smith and Daniel Zimmerman all earned the Ambassador Torch Award at the National Leadership Conference.\u00a0 Daniel Zimmerman took third place in the National Graphic Design Competition and Hunter Smith took tenth place in the Extemporaneous Speech Competition and was named the Middle Level BPA Torch Ambassador of the year earning a $250.00 scholarship.\u00a0 High School BPA member Elijah Quinn took seventh in PC Servicing and Trouble Shooting.\u00a0 The BPA members participated in leadership training, Torch Awards, national officer campaign\/election, and fundraising and walking for Special Olympics.<\/p>\n<p>Business Professionals of America is the premier Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for high school, college, and middle school students preparing for careers in business, finance and management information systems and other related fields. The organization\u2019s activities and programs complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of the skills learned at school. Business Professionals of America has the ability to enhance student participation in professional, civic, service and social endeavors. Members participate in these activities to accomplish goals of self-improvement, leadership development, professionalism, community service, career development, public relations, student cooperation and safety and health.<\/p>\n<p>Business Professionals of America is aided in this endeavor with financial support from companies, institutions and organizations such as the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, Certiport, Stukent, Precision Exams, and Facebook.\u00a0 The generous support of the organization\u2019s many partners facilitates scholarships, educational resources, professional development workshops, webinars and other opportunities for our students and educators and helps make BPA\u2019s National Leadership Conference possible and successful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students from the Branch Area Careers Center attended the Business Professionals of America (BPA) 2021 National Leadership Conference virtually this year.
