Gerardo Martinez is a senior from Bronson Jr\/Sr High School and attends the Branch Area Careers Center\u2019s Welding Engineering Technology program. His On-The-Job-Training placement is as a line welder with LaGrange Products under the supervision of John Dodson. Gerardo\u2019s job duties include measuring, sealing and welding parts for pressure vessels. He says his OJT job has really helped him improve his welding skills, money management, and time management. Gerardo\u2019s favorite part of the job is knowing that he is making money and still going to high school. Gerardo plans to attend community college after he graduates from high school. He is considering studying automotive technology to compliment his welding skills. After college, he plans to pursue a job that he enjoys and earns a high wage, hopefully using both skill sets. At Bronson High School, Gerardo is a member of the Varsity Football, Basketball and Track teams. At the Branch Area Careers Center, he is a member of Skills USA.
